Town End Cottage is a Gold Award self-catering holiday cottage situated in a "secret" valley within the Lake District National Park. For those people searching for tranquility surrounded by a walker's paradise and by fantastic pubs & restaurants, then this rejunvenating cottage has it all. Town End is just over the hill from Lake Windermere along quiet country lanes in unspoilt and beautiful countryside, yet amazingly close to all major routes. It is well located for exploring both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.  

The holiday cottage is part of a traditional 17th Century Westmorland stone farmhouse that has been sympathetically refurbished to a very high standard. It provides modern facilities with large and comfortable beds, and also retains the character and charm of many traditional features.  Outside there are several peaceful sitting areas to enjoy the panoramic views of the green Winster Valley towards the far reaching Lake District mountains.  It is very picturesque with stone outbuildings, meadows, pasture land and dry stone walls of a very small traditional Westmorland farm which now breeds alpacas. 

Town End Cottage has been awarded 4 star Gold Award status by Quality in Tourism, VisitBritain.  And, for six years, the cottage has achieved the same high standard for exceptional quality of accommodation and service.
