Town End Cottage is a Gold Award 4 star self-catering holiday cottage in quiet, unspoilt and beautiful countryside in the Winster Valley within the Lake District National Park.  It is conveniently situated between Lake Windermere and Kendal, and well located for exploring the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.

 

The holiday cottage is part of a traditional 17th Century Westmorland stone farmhouse.  It has been refurbished to a high standard, yet retains beams, low ceilings and other traditional features in keeping with its age. Outside there are several peaceful sitting areas to enjoy.   The cottage is in a very quiet location with fantastic panoramic views, yet close to amenities and major routes.   The traditional small working farm is picturesque with stone outbuildings, meadows, pasture land and dry stone walls.  It operates as an alpaca stud and also has some rare breed cattle and sheep.  

 

Town End Cottage has been awarded self-catering 4 star status by Quality in Tourism, VisitBritain.  Recently this character holiday cottage also achieved a Gold Award for exceptional quality of accommodation. This is a perfect place for up to four adults to stay during any season of the year, with scenic walks, great pubs and restaurants nearby, interesting National Trust and similar properties to visit, and much more to do. And, for couples occupying only one bedroom, there is a significantly reduced tariff.
